Minimizing Your Experience

Another way your subconscious mind might try to protect you is by minimizing your experience. I often hear people say things like “I know other people have it so much worse than me” as a way of bypassing the difficult feelings they may be encountering. Although this can be helpful at some point in your journey in order to gain perspective, when you first start encountering these repressed places in your body, it is important that you allow yourself to just feel what is showing up, without minimizing or analyzing it. Your experience is your experience and comparing it to someone else’s experience doesn’t help you process and release the pattern being held in your body.
