Judging Your Experience

One effective way for your subconscious mind to try to protect you by preventing you from connecting to an issue being held in your body is to stop you from doing the exploration at all by judging the process. Just like Susan did with the green bean image, thinking it was stupid, you might find yourself automatically judging an experience you’re having during an Ally exercise and therefore stopping further exploration. Or you might find yourself completely discounting an exercise or an experience before you’ve really tried it, thinking something like “this isn’t going to help, so why bother”, or “I’ve done this before”, or finding some other reason for not doing it. If this happens, I encourage you to continue with the exercise anyway, and bring an attitude of curiosity and openness to it. You never know what your body might show you!
